Disney on Ice presents: Mickey and Minnie’s Magical Journey
Disney on Ice: Mickey and Minnie’s Magical Journey
March 10, 2011
A colourful and musically filled show for children and adults alike, Disney on Ice: Mickey and Minnie’s Magical Journey is filled with some of Disney’s most loveable and timeless characters. The skating talent is evident as the performers transform scenes and stories from classic Disney movies into musical and dance performances on the ice. Your children will be enchanted by the imaginative costumes and props, and will be brought into the act as the performers encourage their participation. Adults will delight in seeing their children’s enthusiasm and will also marvel at the obvious creativity of costumes and use of moving props that set the different scenes. Disney’s core messages of love, family and friendship, and triumph over evil-doers are presented in classic Disney style.
The show is just long enough to delight without being draining on the kids. The 3 year old and two 6 year olds I brought were thoroughly engaged throughout the lively performances, and were just as excited about the fun concessions and Disney-on-Ice memorabilia that greeted them on the way in and out. Overall, very enjoyable family entertainment.

Disney on Ice presents Princess Classics: A Treat for the Kids
March 11, 2010
Disney on Ice: Princess Classics is a collage of songs and sketches from decades of classic Disney movies. The costumes are bang on – the set and theatrics are impressive. If you’re wondering whether or not your little girl (or boy) will enjoy the show, I can only vouch for the whispering, wide-eyed kids sitting in my section on opening night: they were clearly having a great time.
Although it’s hard to imagine us adults matching the enthusiasm of the many princess costumed 7 and 8 year olds, you will appreciate seeing some of the characters that were dancing across the storybooks and movie screens back when you were 7 or 8. And, just as in the Disney movies themselves, younger kids will love the great costumes and colours – not to mention the lights and, my 4 year old’s favourite, “the fire!”
Parking is easy compared to a Sens game, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Although you might struggle to squeeze past the Disney concession tables with your patience and wallet intact, the show is an easy, enjoyable night for parents, and a really special one for kids.
